Girls' Generation Yuri hopes to hold her solo concert

Q. Congratulations! You finally made a debut as a solo singer. How do you feel?
Yuri: It's been 12 years since I debuted, but I feel like a rookie. You know, it's my first time to release my own solo album, so I'm very nervous now. I feel grateful because so many people have helped me, though.

Q. Tell me about your first solo album.
Yuri: A total of 6 tracks are included in it, and I tried to include a variety of genres of music in it. I was really busy, but I did my best. And actually, I had much more songs, but I had to pick only 6 out of them.

Q. Wasn't it hard to prepare for your solo debut?
Yuri: There were tough times, but you know, I have know-how in this field. I could discover whole new side of myself while preparing for my solo debut.

Q. Tell me about the title track "Into You".
Yuri: It's a very catchy song. The chorus is very sensuous, and I hope many people will sing along to the song. I tried to maximize my "black pearl" image through the song. And the lyrics to the song are about a desire to fall deeply in love with someone. On the stage, I use my pelvis and hands to show my feminine charm.

Q. Other Girls' Generation members including Taeyeon, Seohyun and Hyoyeon have already released their solo albums. What made you release your solo album so late?
Yuri: Well, flowers and trees have their seasons. I think now is the right time for me. And I've prepared for my solo debut, but it was delayed again and again due to my dramas.

Q. What did Girls' Generation members talk about your first solo album?
Yuri: I said they really liked it. They posted about it on SNS too. But I hope they will promote my album more aggressively, haha.

Q. You look so beautiful. How do you keep in shape?
Yuri: I always try to be tensed when I eat. I drink water often, and I do a lot of stretching too.

Q. Are you confident your first solo album will get rave reviews from people?
Yuri: I think it's up to them. I'm just grateful for everything because I always think it's the last time when I perform on the stage.

Q. Your new drama "Dae Jang Geum is watching" will begin to air soon. You must have been very busy preparing for you solo debut and filming the drama at the same time.
Yuri: Yeah, I was busy, but many people helped me a lot. The hardest part about doing the two things at the same time was that I played a sloppy girl in the drama but I had to sing a very feminine and sexy song. I'm trying to enjoy it now, though. Anyway, I think October is my month. Please look forward to my drama too. I will also appear in some TV shows.

Q. What is your goal?
Yuri: I've waited for my solo debut for 17 years. I've wanted to release my solo album since I was a trainee. My goal is to release my next album as soon as possible. And I hope I will hold my solo concert too.
